Corsage, Boutonniere, and Bouquet Making Party

On Wednesday, September 10th a bunch of us gathered at Granny's house to make the corsages, boutonnieres, and bouquets for the wedding. We had a great time! Although, we may not know how to actually make corsages, boutonnieres, and bouquets, we did learn how to spell the word "boutonniere".

Below, Amanda works hard on one of the wedding bouquets!

Summer Lynn even joined us!

As you can see, flowers covered the entire table!

We also learned that Faye is quite the bow maker! She made beautiful bows to go on top of the favor baskets!
Granny had a wonderful time working on the bouquets. Can you tell by the smile on her face?

Theresa and Faye worked together to attach some of the bows to the favor baskets. The final product was so beautiful!

Theresa got a little carried away with the flowers, as you can see!

Gathering as a group to work on these things was not only very productive, but also very fun!

Engagement Announcement in Newspaper!

The Following Engagement Announcement was featured in the September 13th copy of the Covington News, the local newspaper!

Mr. and Mrs. Kent Haralson of Oxford and Mr. and Mrs. Scott Malcom of Shady Dale announce the engagement of their daughter Kelli Danielle Malcom of Oxford to George Russell Rebholz, son of Mr. and Mrs. William "Red" Rebholz of Griffin.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Elsie Blair and the late Gene Blair of Oxford, H.S. Haralson and the late Grace Haralson of Covington, Art and Sandra Norred of Oxford and Gerald and Catherine Malcom of Covington.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Newton High School and received an associate degree in criminal justice from Gordon College.

The future groom is a graduate of Griffin High School and is employed by Shiflett Plumbing, Heating & Air.

The couple plan to wed at sunset on the beach at Tybee Island Oct. 4. A reception will follow at the Guard House, Fort Screven.

The Lingerie Shower!

On Saturday, September 6th, a group of us gathered at the O'Charley's Restaurant in Conyers for Kelli's Lingerie Shower.

The hosts of the party, Vicki (Kelli's cousin) and Margie (Kelli's Aunt) did an awesome job putting the party together and were great hosts! Thank you so much Vicki and Margie. We appreciate all that you did to prepare for this party!

The favorite drink of the day was the Cotton Candy Martini! It was delicious!

Bride to Be and Mother of the Bride!

Everyone had a great time watching Kelli open up all of her presents! You never knew what was coming out of those bags!! Ha! Ha!

As you can see, this lingerie piece was one of Kelli's favorites! It was given to her by one of her friends that attended the party!

The Wedding Rings!

Oh my goodness, it's really happening!! Less than one month away! The wedding rings have been bought!

They are beautiful!!

Engagement Pictures!

Right before we all gathered at David's Bridal to pick out the Bridesmaids' dresses, Kelli and Russell went to Picture People at Stonecrest Mall to have their engagement pictures taken. After the Bridesmaid's picked out their dresses, Amy, Kim, Kelli, and I (Allison) went back over to Picture People to see how the Engagement pictures turned out. They were really good! We found three poses that we especially liked. They are the three that were in the very first post of this blog!

The Wedding Elves at Work

The wedding elves have been hard at work!

Below, Kent paints the favor baskets that we will use at the wedding reception.

In the picture below, Kent and I have our own assembly line wrapping flatware for the Low Country Boil that will take place before the wedding.

The next day, our assembly line moved to Granny's house! Snip, snip, snip! Granny works hard to snip the ends off of the blue ribbons that we tied around the wrapped flatware.

Michelle and Randall (the supervisors), were certainly in the wedding spirit! Not much work out of them.

Faye makes beautiful bows to go on top of the favor baskets.

Shopping for Bridesmaid's Dresses

On this day in July, Kelli, all of her bridesmaid's, Connie (Amy's mom), Margie (Vicki's mom), and I all met at David's Bridal to look for and try on Bridemaid's dresses. Let me just say, David's Bridal will NEVER be the same!

The shirt says it all! Kelli is definitely excited about being a "Bride to Be" and we are so excited for her!

Amy and Kim, both Maid of Honors, had a wonderful time looking for dresses. I think they tried on every matching dress in the store.

Kim's dressing room looked like a set from the movie "27 Dresses".

Amy gives her best impression of Wonder Woman. This is the actual dress that she will be wearing in the wedding, minus the head band.

The picture below is of all of the bridesmaid's in the actual dresses that they chose. Amy is wearing the actual color that the dresses will be.

More Wedding Shopping

On this day, Kim, Kelli, and I (Allison) went shopping for Kelli a few dresses to wear to upcoming showers and a Mother of the Bride dress. It was a very successful shopping day and we found everything that we needed!

Finding the Perfect Wedding Dress

In May, Kelli came to Covington and we went looking for her wedding dress. As the sign says, we were "Off to the Bridal Shop.

Our first stop was David's Bridal at Stonecrest Mall.

Below is a picture of Kelli looking through all of the dresses at David's Bridal. She was searching for the perfect wedding dress to wear on her special day.

We did not actually expect to find her wedding dress on this day. We went to David's Bridal with the intent to look and try on dresses. However, as soon as she tried on this dress, we all knew that it was "the one".

This was a very special moment. Seeing Kelli in her wedding dress for the first time was wonderful. She looked like a beautiful bride.

Oh Shucks

One day during the summer, Kim and I loaded up in the car and headed to Newborn to buy lots of corn to use for the Low Country Boil. In the end, we ended up with 14 dozen ears of corn. We stuffed them in the truck of my car and headed home.

As you can see, Kim got right to work. It's a good thing Grandma Oma and Granddaddy Wilbur taught us how to shuck corn when we were little.

Not long after the work began, Kim took a break. Cassandra decided to get in on the action and picked up Kim's slack.

By the end of the day, all the corn was shucked and placed in the freezer in preparation for the Low Country Boil.
